Freezing Cold
▲This is why "going for a walk" has been no fun lately.
▼Slush freezing to ice!
In the morning of New Year's Eve, we had -15° C.
Around noon, still around -12°, but sunshine...
I had been cooped up inside too long...
I ventured out for a walk down to the riverside.
It was actually easier to walk where paths had not been plowed.
I was obviously not the first person to have made that discovery,
although at noon on New Year's Eve the place was more or less deserted.

I love the photos of snow! Almost makes me miss it...
Nice pics. I like the sun between the two trees and the ball of snow scoring a goal. I thought of you as I walked down the driveway to my car and drove out to dinner: dry, sunny, and nice. You've helped me see my world through more appreciative eyes.
I haven't had to walk on ice or snow since my knee started giving me trouble. The crisp snow looks almost inviting but the icy slush is the stuff of nightmares.
I'm smiling as I note where comments come from... Texas, California and New Zealand...!
Graham, you sum it up pretty well in that last sentence: "The crisp snow looks almost inviting but the icy slush is the stuff of nightmares."
It's beautiful how the sun light shimmers through the branches of the trees! Sorry, I've been too long away from your blog:)
