Soap Bubbles

Some things in life aren't as easy as they might seem,
even if you think you've got the right recepy.

Well, at last...!

The pictures are from a Public Laundry Day in our town centre yesterday, organized by the Textile Museum to show how things were done "in the good old days". There are also a couple of photos from this event at my Picture Book blog today. More will be coming up in the next few days.

I remember playing with soap bubbles as a child...
Found the photo below in my old album, of me and my cousin.
I about 8, he going on 2.

you were soooo cute. I loved and still do love blowing bubbles. I volunteer at a nursing home and they residents love blowing bubbles and watching us blow them. I really like the photo of the lady blowing bubbles where she is clear and the rest is blurred. great shot.

Public Laundry Day? We have a saying here "Don't Air Your Dirty Laundry", meaning not to tell family secrects. Have you heard it? This makes me think of that. This looks so offbeat, something I would love to attend. Great shots, and what a wonderfully charming pic of you and your little cousin! I'll hop on over to your other blog now.

Yes Ginny, we have the same saying, with the same meaning - about washing or airing dirty laundry in public - and I had it in mind. Language makes the allusion to that saying less strong in Swedish; but I still find it the best translation into English (and adds an extra dimension).

Dawn Treader I really like the soft focus on three of your pictures. And the one of you is priceless!
