Getting Closer...

... to an important decision. Ever since my desktop computer crashed in November (still feels like somewhat of a Trauma), I've been thinking of getting a new computer. The harddrive space left on my present laptop keeps shrinking rapidly in spite of all my efforts to clean up, and put backups on an extra hard drive etc. The battery capacity is very low, too. And it's Vista, and generally slow. I really want to get a new one before this one suddenly gives up, too.

So I think I'm getting ready to take the plunge. There might be a purchase in a few days when my brother comes down for Easter. I think a 17" screen laptop is what would suit my needs best for now and the near future. It will primarily be used as a desktop one, but it will still be possible for me to move it and use it elsewhere if needed. I have my eyes (well, thoughts!) on one which besides Windows 7 also comes with Photoshop Elements 7 preinstalled. And it has 10x the harddrive space compared to this one. Hmmm...

Love the yellow flowers; I never would have known what they are. Are they wildflowers? I'll be interested in what computer you get and how you like it!

Go for it! I had the same decision to make last fall and got a new computer with Windows 7. After the initial learning period, I now love it and some of the features that I thought I'd never use are now my favorites. Get a Windows 7 book and use it from day one.

I think decisions about computers get harder all the time as there are so many things to think about nowadays. Very best of luck in finding a new friend.

my desktop is starting to do strange things and is almost 4 years old. i decided a few weeks ago to buy a laptop just in case this one crashes. i went to 4 different stores, spent two hours in one store typing and playing with every laptop they had, picked the brains of the geeeks that work there, researched on line and decide to buy a Toshiba, then decided to buy and HP then i was so confused i bought nothing. i have not seen one with Photos shop 7 on it, but i already have that on the PC so that will not help me make my decision. good luck, there are just soooo many to choose from

Dawn Treader....I hope you take the plunge! You will think you died and went to heaven! Window 7 is in my opinion the best window version ever and you would love the new Photoshop elements.
