Thankful For Books

I've been taking part in the Booking Through Thursdays for quite a while now, usually from this blog. With every week I'm getting increasingly aware that whatever the questions, there are certain authors and books that come more frequently to mind than others. Nothing really strange in that, I suppose. Just goes to show that those authors and books have made a special impact on me. This week's Booking Through Thursday question was: "What authors and books are you most thankful for?" Once again I found my thoughts wandering first of all to J.K. Rowling and C.S. Lewis. If you want to know why, go to my Harry Potter blog: Through My Spectrespecs. I decided to put my answer there this week.

Of course I could list lots of other books and authors I'm thankful for as well.
But I'll save those for some other time!

I love all things James Patterson, he is not my all time favorite but right now is in my mind because I just read two of his books. J.D. Robb, Erica Spindler, Ridley.

Ginny: All those names are familiar to me. I don't think I ever read Cummings. Not sure if I ever read a whole book by Nouwen but I've seen him frequently quoted and referred to.

Sandra: I don't know any of these, except I found when I looked them up that J.D. Robb is a pseudonym for Nora Roberts - I think I've read one or two by her in her own name.

That is a huge question. The longer I read, the more writers I discover and love. Traditional writers: Charles Dickens, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Alexandre Dumas, George Eliot, Tolstoy.

Contemporary: John Irving, Doris Kearns Goodwin, David McCullogh,wow...this could take all night. Michael Lewis...gotta stop.

Great question. Hope you receive alot of answers.
