Booking Through Thursday: Borrowing

http://btt2.wordpress.com/2010/11/18/borrowing/

Deb's question this week:
Who would you rather borrow from? Your library? Or a Friend?

(Or don’t your friends trust you to return their books?)
And, DO you return books you borrow?

I usually borrow books from the library, or buy them. I live quite close to the library, whereas I don't have any book-loving friend living close now. If do I borrow a book from someone it's usually because they suggest it. I don't borrow from friends unless I think I'll be reading the book fairly soon, or they say it doesn't matter if I keep it for a while. I don't think I'm guilty of not having returned borrowed books.

I use the library or buy, have never borrowed from a friend. now i have to use the library because i can only read Large Print books and all my friends read paperbacks. when my eyes were better i took paper backs from friends that did not want them back. i also used to trade books at a used book store, trade and read.

Nowadays, I mostly buy books. Or prefer to borrow from friends.

Here is my BTT post!

I buy my books and sometimes borrow from my daughter, she and I have similar taste in books.

Well, it kind of makes me nervous to borrow things, because I feel pressured to get them back right away and protect them from harm!

I would rather get my books from the library, and when I do borrow a book from someone , I do make sure I return it.

I borrow books by the dozen from my mum and always ask her for new recommendations ... I often keep them for extended periods but she does now have a 'loan book' where you write down what you have taken so that they don't loose too many favourites:-)
I also buy from charity shops a great deal and keep the ones I love to share with others and give back the ones I am not bothered by.
thanks for sharing
