There was even a photo of the queue in the newspaper the next day. The zoo hasn't had so many visitors in decades as they've suddenly had this summer, for no apparent reason. My guess is it has to do with the economic recession. More people choose to stay in their own country instead of going abroad, and spend their money on trips to the zoo and holiday/amusement parks instead.
I haven't been to the zoo for years, and not since I got my digital camera. Inspired by the photoblog I just joined, I thought it might be fun to go and take some pictures. But in a crowd it would have been difficult to get good photo opportunities anyway. I might try again after all the kids have gone back to school ;)
