Quotation of the Week (27/09)

In order to give one's self, it is first necessary to possess one's self; but it serves no useful purpose to possess one's self, if it is not in order to be able to give one's self.

I listened to this dialog on NPR (Natl Public Radio) today about Ayn Rand and her belief that we are all inherently selfish; that anything we do in the name of altruism is selfish because it ultimately serves ourself, etc. etc. Can't say I agree or disagree, but your quote made me think of it. :)
